Municipal Law

Our attorneys have experience representing cities, towns and villages in all aspects of municipal governance as both general and special counsel. In particular, we advise clients on SEQRA and DEC regulatory compliance, comprehensive planning, drafting local laws/ordinances, the drafting and negotiation of PILOT agreements, the formation and management of special improvement districts, advising planning, zoning boards and building officers during permit and application review and other aspects of economic development.

We guide clients in resolving and/or avoiding contract or construction disputes and counsel them to maintain compliance with competitive bidding requirements, municipal referendum requirements, prevailing wage laws and state and federal procurement statutes. Our attorneys are also experienced in prosecuting traffic tickets, enforcing building and zoning codes and prosecuting criminal violations that would not be typically handled by the Dutchess County District Attorney.
